The London Youth Symphony offers orchestral
instrumentalists a level of training that cannot be duplicated by any
school or through private study alone. Orchestral playing techniques,
improved musicianship and discipline are just a few of the areas in
which our players learn and excel.
Open to strings, winds, brass and percussion, LYS
allows students between the ages of 13 and 23 to work with the finest
musicians and conductors in the area. Weekly rehearsals are conducted
by Maestro Len Ingrao, while sectionals are coached by members of
Orchestra London Canada and the Don Wright Faculty of Music of the
University of Western Ontario.Currently using the London Waldorf School for its
Friday evening rehearsals, the Symphony performs its Sunday afternoon
concerts at Aeolian Hall.
